Born and raised in a family of doctors that valued education and service, Dr Sujata Datta developed a passion for medicine at an early age. She pursued her undergraduate studies in Medicine at the prestigious Calcutta Medical College, where she graduated with honours. Her thirst for knowledge and her desire to excel led her to specialize further, earning a postgraduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists UK. Subsequently she was invited to be a Fellow of the Royal College.
Dr. Datta's journey in the medical field began with rigorous training and Registrar programs at some of the most renowned hospitals in the UK such as Queen Charlotte and Hammersmith Hospitals, leading to a CCT from the London Deanery. She worked under the mentorship of leading experts, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in minimal invasive surgeries and honing her skills in the management of high risk pregnancy care, diagnostics, and treatment . Her training period was marked by her clinical acumen and her ability to handle complex medical cases with precision and empathy.
Dr. Sujata Datta's professional career after working in the UK for 12 years, brought her back to India to give back to her roots. She has held the position of Lead Gynaelogist at Fortis Hospital Anandapur and Bhagirathi Neotia Hospitals where she has not only practiced medicine but also contributed to the development of obstetric services in keeping with international guidelines , and developed the robotic surgery programmes, bringing cutting edge technology to the city.
Throughout her career, Dr.Datta has assumed several leadership roles, including head of department and memberships of various medical committees. Her leadership style is characterized by her collaborative approach, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous learning among her colleagues and staff.
